Make sure that the sling is correctly inserted into the cover and is ready for use.
Using the MOLLE straps, place the pouch with the sling and carabiner on the back of your own body armor.
Attach the carabiner to the evacuation loop of your own body armor. If there is no such loop, the carabiner can be attached to the MOLLE straps on the back of the body armor, to the shoulder strap of the body armor, or in another convenient place.
Show all members of your group where the evacuation sling is located on your equipment.
In the event that only your evacuation sling can be used as a means of evacuation, one of the group members must pull the ends of the sling and pull the sling out.
Avoiding sudden movements, pull the casualty to a safe area.
Once you reach a safe area, you must remove the sling.
Using the sling for evacuation of the casualty:
Make sure that the sling is properly inserted into the case and is ready for use.
Using the MOLLE straps, place the pouch with the sling on the equipment, tactical trouser belt, or in another easily accessible place.
In cases where only an evacuation sling can be used as a means of evacuation, remove the sling from the pouch by pulling on both ends of the sling.
Assess the situation to determine which method of using the sling will be safest for you and the casualty, and properly place the sling on yourself or the casualty.
Make sure that the sling is correctly positioned around the body, depending on the chosen method of using the sling.
Before starting the movement, make sure that the sling is well secured and will not slip during the evacuation.
To avoid injuring the casualty, move carefully and evenly.
Once you have reached a safe area, remove the sling.
